Change Codec (Button) |
Codec for compressing video footage. For compatibility reasons, "Uncompressed Frames" is the default. This provides the best quality, but creates huge files. A video codec compresses video files. A 40 megabyte video file can be compressed to 4 megabytes by a standard Windows codec, and up to 0.4 megabytes by a newer hi-quality codec (such as the div-X or Xvid). Your computer will have several preinstalled codecs, and you can search the Internet for more. |
